Bershka is now open at Westgate Oxford, the Inditex brand's first store in the county: an 11,000 sq ft shop on the Upper Ground floor beside H&M and Urban Outfitters.

Bershka has opened at Westgate Oxford. It is the fashion chain’s first store in Oxfordshire.

The shopping centre announced the opening on Thursday 29 October. In a post on its Instagram account, it said Bershka “is NOW OPEN at Westgate Oxford” with “TWO floors of womenswear and menswear”.

What the store is

Westgate first announced the store in June. Its press release, published by Experience Oxfordshire on 26 June, gave the details:

  • 11,000 sq ft of shop floor
  • on the Upper Ground floor, next to H&M and Urban Outfitters
  • womenswear in two lines: Bershka, for trend pieces, denim, casual and eveningwear, and BSK, for pop-culture styles
  • menswear under the Bershka Man line, covering casual and sportswear
  • a range of accessories and footwear alongside the three lines

Bershka belongs to Inditex, the Spanish group that also owns Zara. The release said the brand was founded in 1998 for young shoppers who follow trends, music and social media.

Clare Martin, Westgate Oxford’s centre director, said in the release: “Bershka has been a highly-requested name, so we are thrilled to be welcoming them to our retail line-up.”

She said the centre wanted to bring in “retailers that can’t be found elsewhere in Oxfordshire”.
